... or "Trying real hard to finish writing 'The God Delusion'"
Oh yes, ladies and gents. After all my Lucius/Snape, Snape/Draco, Snape/Lily pairings I decided to draw a new pairing, ta-daaaaah!!! I thought, let's find something new, original, never done before. Let's pick... a scientist for a change! A real person! But it had to be a good-looking scientist.... Carl Sagan! Nope, he's dead..... Uh... How about... Richard Dawkins!!! He's gorgeous, he's British, perfect! All righty.... But what about his mate! It should be a sophisticated lady, someone classy and unusual and not so famous. It could be... another scientist? Like Ann Druyan was for Carl Sagan? Or a journalist? Or a politician, like Rima Horton is for Alan Rickman? Nah, she should be something nobody would ever think of... Let's see... How 'bout an artist? Could be a painter, an actress, a singer. Oh oh, let's pick an actress. But which one? How could Dawkins possibly meet and fall in love with an actress? He should know people from the showbiz. Showbiz... A director? A producer? Oh, I got it, a writer, after all he's a writer too (d'uh...). A writer, a British writer preferably. Hmmm.... Dawkins is a scientist. Who's the most "scientific" novelist we know? Oh! Oh! I got it! Douglas Adams! He's perfect. He was the writer of "Doctor Who", right? And he always put scientific stuff in his books. So how could Dawkins and Adams meet? Let's think of a highly improbable scenario: Dawkins loves "Doctor Who".... and writes a fanletter to its writer! Highly improbable, I know, but not utterly impossible. So Dawkins sends Adams this fanletter (the idea!...). Adams is amused and invites Dawkins to his place. They become good friends, it turns out they have much in common - love of science and all living creatures. Now let's cut to the chase. Douglas Adams must have a friend, as I said an actress, someone with clever eyes and cultivated voice. Ah... How 'bout Lalla Ward? She was Romana in "Doctor Who". You'd never think of her, would you? But she too has a love for animals, she also draws them. So Richard and Lalla meet. Uh... how? Oh! How about a party at Adams' place? That's it. Both Ward and Dawkins are invited, and punctual as they are they get there... early. So yes, nobody else has arrived yet. So they're forced to talk to each other. Dawkins is interested in Ward, she's a fascinating woman, they even share their love for nature. But their relationship is kinda full of obstacles - he already has survived two broken marriages and is possibly afraid to commit again. But he has faith in her. True faith, "based on evidence". And so does she. They end up together, they grow old together. Happy ending.
Lovely, oh it's lovely!
Well, > phew<, that sounds like a highly improbable but fascinating pairing for fanart, don't you think?
Wait a minute.... Wha....?
WHAT DO YOU MEAN "IT'S BEEN DONE BEFORE??!!!"......
Wow, what a well thought out piece. I think I love the description almost as much as I love the painting. I really like this style too. You are such a versatile artists. Posting something like this really shows off all the different talents you have. Keep up the marvelous work!

You are amazing and it's a wonderful idea! I also love the new bright style. Actually, I have always thought that Richard Dawkins was gorgeous. I love the way you make him look.
Never heard of these people, but it's awesome! Cute story, too.

Oh my gosh, thanks SO much for taking the time to read my huge comment! As for the style, well, that's my style actually for some time now. Because when my HP series ended 4 years ago I had nothing "dark" to illustrate any more. Plus, I wasn't forced by my art teachers to do something "arty". So yes, now I indulge in pure illustration. Bright colours and thick outlines, yay!
