Snape and Lucius: nowhere... by ElenaTria Snape and Lucius: nowhere... by ElenaTria
"This will lead us nowhere..." A very cheesy moment, a very cheesy line for Snape to tell. (from "Pure Blood", my fanfic written in Greek and waiting for some Greek-speaking volunteer to translate it in English).
Of course there's no such line in my story (there are much much worse) but it suited the scene, it could be something he was thinking that moment (hence the gloominess) but never dared utter it.
In the story Snape was always the grumpy, reluctant one and Lucius the joie-de-vivre type, spending money on silly things, enjoying life and living for the moment (the opposite of Snape - that's why they make such a nice couple). I think most shippers of this pairing have the same ideas for their characters and how they would behave in the relationship.

Have you been able to translate "Pure Blood" yet? I'd love to give that one a read; after seeing your art I think I might like it =]

:iconvelvetvortex: and :iconnaziparty: have both volunteered lately but seeing that they're in school and uni I don't know if they'll ever get to finish it (or even start it, lol). :(
Thank you very very much for liking my art, and for this comment here, since it will give me the opportunity to look you up when "Pure Blood" is translated. :) If the girls do it, I'll contact you for sure! :D

NOW you're exaggerating! I always thought that this series of drawings would have no appeal in DA, people here prefer digital art, clear colours, something sweet and nice, illustration-like (I say this because I like them too).
Sketches like this are kinda scruffy, and dark. But I made them as sexy and to the point as possible.
Your work, on the other hand, is very artistic and well-made. Bravo!

I think what blows me away is how well you capture the likeness of the characters in combination with having them in your very own settings. And somehow I think your style suits the subjects very well, as you are tapping into their dark sides. Pretty and smooth just wouldn't be the right thing here...

Thank you, the likeness of the characters is all that's important to me, otherwise I wouldn't do it. As for my own settings, I really wanted to do a comic based on them (too tough, though) so I would have to change their expressions, poses etc.
Maybe you're right about my style and their dark sides, besides "Pure Blood" is not a happy story. They get a lot of sex of course but it's full of guilt, bad memories and premonitions of a dark future (Snape has to kill Lucius in the end). These two together, they have nothing but dark sides. Let's face it, no matter how passionate about Snape, Lucius would never give up on Narcissa. And Snape knows he's doing the wrong thing by bedding the enemy, and actually betraying the Order of the Phoenix. Snape knows they have no future together. Hence the title!

But I would so love to be able to draw pretty and smooth! It's a lot of work!

Sounds like a fabulous idea for a fanfic - or for a comic, for that matter!

Really? I always thought that all fanfictions are the same. I didn't want to do anything different, I only wanted to express how I felt about those two, their contradictions. I would gladly do a comic about young Snape and Lily. But "Pure Blood"? I think it's good as it is, fanfiction with some illustrations. Are you sure you haven't read any similar fanfictions before? (how do they call them? Snucius? Pffft - ha ha ha!!!)

I have come across the Snape/Lucius pairing a few times in stories I guess, some authors doing pretty well with it - but sometimes it is just atrocious... I typically read a little and when a story interests me I go on, if I am rather repelled I don't make myself read it. After all it's supposed to be for fun.

I guess I had my own fanfiction obsession for a while there, too, and the result was a Lucius fic in 4 parts following the canon books until OOTP and introducing an OC as Lucius' mistress. After OOTP my story took a different turn, because unlike JKR I did the right thing and busted Lucius out of prison. I also wrote a stand-alone involving Lucius and the Black sisters, that explains why Lucius hates muggles, introduces a truly macchiavellian Bellatrix, Andromeda as Lucius' intentended wife, and a rather sad and sorry Narcissa. Oh and incidentally it would explain why Snape was so nice to Narcissa in HBP, though that had not been published yet, when I wrote my little scene, he hee!

Why are the Snape/Lucius stories you read atrocious? Most of the times there is mostly sex, sex and more sex. There are interesting stories to read, but I finally decided there's no point in reading other people's stories, it's better writing my own.
What's an OC?
Somehow in our stories we all bust Lucius out of prison, don't we!... Andromeda as Lucius' intended wife? Interesting!
OK, now you got my attention: why was Snape nice to Narcissa??? Eh? Go on!
