Favourite Villains - Tagged by Arinya13

Fri Feb 22, 2008, 12:52 PM
Thanks, :iconarinya13: !
As you probably know, tag rules should be changed regularly.
So here they are:

WHEN TAGGING

1. Post these rules.
2. Each tagged person should post 8 of their favourite villains.
3. Tagged people should write a Journal/Blog about these villains.
4. In the end, tag and name 8 more people.
5. Go to their DA pages and comment saying that they are tagged and hugged.

1) Antonio Salieri (Amadeus)
Why I like him: He was the first "real" villain who scared the hell out of me when I was 9. Simply because one could not help sympathising with him, no matter what. He had found an ingenious way to emotionally blackmail Mozart and estrange him from his family. He "killed" one of the greatest composers of all time. And he got away with it.
The scene that did it for me: burning the crucifix in the fireplace.
Favourite quote: "From now on, we are enemies You and I."

2) Hans Gruber (Die Hard)
Why I like him: The phlegm. The style. The elegance. He should be advertising Hugo Boss suits.
The scene that did it for me: Mrs McClane asks permission for a pregnant woman to move to an office where there's a sofa. Hans won't allow it but he permits a sofa to be brought out for her. What a gentleman.
(and please, notice his lowering gaze as Mrs McClane is leaving his office. Yes. He's looking at her butt.    )
Favourite quote: "I'm an exceptional thief, Mrs McClane. And since I'm moving up to kidnapping, you should be more polite."

3) Colonel William Tavington (The Patriot)
Why I like him: :faint: I'm sorry. I just tried to watch a scene of his (just to remind me) and I got a nosebleed.
The scene that did it for me: He insults the memory of the boy he killed only to challenge the boy's father.
Favourite quote: "You know, it's an ugly business doing one's duty. But just occasionally it's a real pleasure".

4) The Sheriff of Nottingham (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves)
Why I like him: He's the Yosemite Sam of Nottingham. With huge amounts of sex-appeal.
The scene that did it for me: the swordfight with Robin. And that stolen kiss.
Favourite quote: "Cancel the kitchen scraps for lepers and orphans. No more merciful beheadings. And call off Christmas".

5) The Cigarette-Smoking Man (The X-Files)
Why I like him: I never watched the complete series, but behind that thick cloud of smoke, he had a million shades of grey. I could never tell whether he was completely bad or working for "the greater good".
The scene that did it for me: at the beach, teasing Mulder's mother with memories of the past. And the innuendo that he *might* have been a better lover than Mr Mulder.
Favourite quote: "Don't try and threaten me, Mulder, I watched presidents die".

6) Javert (Les Miserables)
Why I like him: Just listen to his song, "Stars", sung by Terrence Mann. And watch him being played by Geoffrey Rush. 'Nuff said.
The scene that did it for me: He commits suicide because his sense of justice is too much for him.
Favourite quote: :music: "I swear to you, I will be there...." :music:

7) The Joker (The Killing Joke)
Why I like him: He was soulless. Until Brian Bolland and Alan Moore came along.
The scene that did it for me: He's on his knees. For the first time in his life he isn't smiling. Batman is trying to rehabilitate him. The Joker rises. He remembers who he used to be. He regrets it all. He's almost crying.
Favourite quote: "No. I'm sorry but... No. It's too late for that. Far too late..."

8) T-Bag (he's still more of a villain in the first season of "Prisonbreak" - don't spoil me about the following ones!!!)
Why I like him: He's a survivor. At any cost.
The scene that did it for me: I'm not quite sure. The day just before the prisonbreak he's thinking about a woman who visited him in jail. I don't know who that woman was.
Favourite quote: From the little I've seen, I'm sure he hasn't said it yet. ;)

(I would mention Lucius Malfoy, Claude Frollo, James Hook and Jareth but I've already mentioned them in my "8 favourite fictional characters" tag. Besides, they're not really villains anymore, are they..... :D )

Guess who I'm tagging: :iconasaph: :iconkomiotis: :iconblackmagnolias: :iconmasquedenuit:

Oh, we do have a similar taste you and I!

I also love Antonio Salieri, Colonel William Tavington, Javert, the Sheriff of Nottingham - and of course also Lucius malfoy, Claude Frollo, James Hook and Jareth.

Maybe you could add some of your reasons for liking these awesome villains. I would love to hear your thoughts on them!

Εγώ το μόνο που θυμάμαι ήταν τα herbal cigarettes που κάπνιζε στην πραγματικότητα γιατί είχε κόψει το τσιγάρο. LOL

Oh.......
Reasons? I don't remember them anymore, they are so many!
I'll try........
